Hi, I'm Nic Bone. I'm currently a data analyst at the non-profit consulting firm Campbell & Company. We help non-profits make the most of their data, and I spend much of my time wrangling and visualizing data from a wide range of sources. In May 2025 I defended my PhD, having spent six years working on statistical methods in evolutionary biology in the Uyeda Lab at Virginia Tech. My research centered around capturing the attributes of hard-to-measure traits for phylogenetic comparative methods, with my dissertation specifically focused on modelling the evolution of avian migration (see my research page for this and some other projects).
